James loves riding his bike. He learnt to ride without stabilisers a few months ago and now sometimes rides to school.

Lou's Hen Night

Lou, a friend from work, will shortly be getting married. Tonight was one of her hen nights. As she will be getting married in Greece, we went to a Greek restaurant to celebrate. The kids were staying over a mum and dads so I dropped them off before meeting the girls in Canterbury.

I'd never really experienced Greek food before, but it was lovely we had a selection of food - including stuffed vine leaves, Greek salad, meat balls, humus etc.....I was full to bursting and then they bought out the main course...another selection of food to share...calamari, a lamb dish, chicken, roast potatoes and vegetables.....delicious.

It was a lively venue with lots of Greek music, dancing, and fun. We were there until nearly midnight, which is late for me. Some of the girls were going on elsewhere after the restaurant...but I needed my bed by then.

Wildwood

Kathy and I took the kids to wildwood today. The weather was nice and for once the kids didn't moan...result.

Horsing Around

Today the kids went to see Suzanne and her horse, Red.

Happy Birthday

The kids were invited to 3 birthday parties in 2 days. To start with I was determined that they wouldn't eat anything that would send them wild, but by the end of the 2 days this proved to be impossible.

The first of the parties was Heather's, who was 4. This was held at her house and featured traditional party games and face painting.

Next came Joshua and Dylan's joint party at Snappys. Josh was 4 and Dylan 1. How cost effective to have your children's birthdays close together.

Then came Bobby's party. Bobby, aged 3, is a friend of Kaitlyn's from a toddler group I take her to. Kaitlyn always gets excited about seeing him, but then spends an hour ignoring him. Luckily James was invited too. Bobby had a Disco party at the Reculver Club, James said it was the best party ever! Unfortunately lots of sweets were consumed and the day after both kids were bouncing of the walls!

Howlett's Wild Animal Park

I was off work this week so had lots planned to do with the kids. One of the things they really wanted to do was go to Howletts. It's quite expensive to get in usually, but I used Tesco Clubcard vouchers to pay and therefore it was a quarter of the price. I still managed to spend a fortune however on ice-creams, face painting and gift shop.

The lemurs were probably our favorite as you could get really close to them.





It was a really nice sunny day and the kids had a lot of fun. We went with our friends Jo and Bradley. The kids were exhausted by the end of the day and had a very early night.

Easter Party

There was an Easter party at the church today. Activities included egg decorating, making chocolate nests an egg hunt and a hat parade. James was disappointed that he didn't win the hat parade, however as his hat was a minimal effort job leftover from last year that really wasn't surprising...life's hard kid, get over it!

He did get over it pretty quickly and we all had a good time.
