I took the kids for a day out to the East Kent Railway at Shepherdswell. They were having and Easter egg hunt and promised a chocolate egg for every fare paying child. We arrived just before 11, paid for our tickets and the kids were both issued with an Easter egg - flake for James and caramel for Kaitlyn. The Easter egg hunt consisted of several questions which were much to difficult for the kids (and me!), but as we already had the chocolate we weren't too concerned.
We boarded the old train and set of on the journey - it doesn't go far but it goes through a tunnel and has to pass manually operated barrier. A man gets of the train, opens the barriers, the train moves through and waits for him to close the barriers and get back on the train. Back at Shepherdwell the kids had a go on the mini railway, which is a tiny engine that pulls a small carriage along a mini track. It sits about 3 people.
We had a look round the station, had at picnic and then went on the train again. James got to ride up the front with the driver, which pleased him. All-in-all it was a good day out.

Looks really fun. I won't tell my kids- they have had such a boring Easter holiday! We haven't done anything, as this baby hasn't fit into my schedule at all! It should be here by now! lol!
